The Ford Ranger is packed with technologies and features designed to improve capability and help you work smarter.
The Ford Ranger has wider stance than the previous model, which allows for a greater load box area; now wide enough to accommodate a standard Euro pallet between the wheelhouses. A new load bed liner moulding offers improved protection for the load bed too.
The Ranger is now available with an Easy Lift tailgateTooltip, which makes it feel significantly lighter whilst opening. All tailgates double-up as a work bench too. Featuring clamp pockets, and even cupholders.
Ranger’s versatile cargo management system allows you to carry cargo safely and securely. Internal rails on either side of the load box feature spring loaded cleats which can be secured in any of nine positions. Together with DIN compliant tie-down points, this gives you more options when securing your cargo. Ford supplied load bed liners even incorporate slots to allow you to create your own bespoke timber framed compartments within the load bed.
An onboard invertor supplies 240-Volts and up to 400 Watts of power. This means you can run most of your electric hand tools, recharge batteries, or even run appliances such as a fridge directly from the load box.
Makes it easier to carry longer items like ladders or canoes. This unique feature combines a folding roof rack on the cab, and a sliding load hoop over the bed. Engineered to be simple to operate and look like it belongs no matter how it’s positioned, the system allows you to secure awkward items up top, and free space out back. Available on Wildtrak, Wildtrak X and Tremor, with other models to follow.
For times when you need to reach into the load box without opening the tailgate; Ranger’s innovative rear bumper design now includes convenient integrated foot steps on either side; providing easier and safer access to your cargo.
A bank of six available auxiliary switches on the overhead console make it easier to power aftermarket accessories, such as light bars and beacon packs, from inside the cab. The vehicle is also pre-wired, with circuits placed where equipment is commonly added, including under the bonnet, by the front grille and near the trailer hitching point.
Help to keep your tools and cargo safe, securely stowed and protected from the weather. A range of additional load box enhancements are available as optional accessories – including this power-operated roller shutter, with remote key fob activation.
Smooth city streets, or rocky off-road terrain: wherever you’re driving, Ranger’s Terrain Management System fine-tunes vehicle settings to suit the conditions. A rotary dial lets you shift between available drive modes: NORMAL and ECO for ordinary roads; TOW HAUL for when pulling a trailer; SLIPPERY for loose surfaces; and MUD/RUTS or SAND for more rugged off-roadingTooltip.
Featuring a range of latest generation Ford EcoBlue diesel engines, the Ranger is more powerful, more efficient and has lower emissions than ever before. With three powertrains available, offering up to 240 PS of power and 600 NmTooltip of torque, you’re sure to find the right one for you.
With an advanced 10-speed automatic transmission, the Ranger delivers rewarding acceleration as well as outstanding fuel efficiency. So, whether you’re cruising on the motorway or tackling difficult off-road terrain, you’ll always be in the right gear at the right time.
The 6-speed manual transmission in the Ranger has been optimised to make gear selection easier, more precise, and quieter. It has been specially engineered to improve driving dynamics and reduce fuel consumption, too, helping to make your drive more exhilarating whilst reducing how often you need to refuel.
To help you drive with confidence in all conditions and environments, the Ford Ranger enables you to switch between 4WD and 2WD on the fly. So, when you’re cruising comfortably on smooth roads, you can keep the vehicle in 2WD. But as soon as you want to go off-road or the road conditions deteriorate, you can effortlessly switch into 4WD.
Ranger’s advanced new e-4WD system monitors inputs from various sensors, to automatically vary the torque sent to both the front and rear axles. Alternatively, drivers can choose between various selectable drive modes.
The Ranger goes where lesser vehicles may fear to tread†. In fact, the Ford Ranger’s wading depth of 800 mm‡ lets it prove itself both on dry land and through water.

Parking a pick-up in a busy street or a tight parking space can be tricky. Active Park Assist makes it easy by identifying a suitable parallel or perpendicular parking space, then automatically steering you in. You just need to push the button and let the car do the work for you. It can even be used to help you manoeuvre back out of parallel parking spaces too††.
For models with a 10-speed automatic transmission, Ranger’s E-Shifter replaces a traditional automatic gear leaver, giving you complete control of the gearbox with a satisfyingly solid shift action. This system uses lateral sensors to look for vehicles hidden in your blind spot and can even be calibrated to account for the length of your trailer whilst towing. If another vehicle is detected, the system alerts you via warning lights built into both door mirrors.††
In addition to the driver, front passenger, and side airbags, all Rangers are now fitted with an additional far side airbag located between the front seats. This helps to reduce the severity of any impact between the driver and front passenger in the unlikely event of a collision.
